My main skills are problem solving, software development, numerical simulations and data acquisition and analysis. I am a very creative person and like to think out-of-the-box. I have strong analytical skills and I like working in groups as well as individually.

I am currenly developing software applied to big data using R programming language. I also contribute to Stack Overflow where I rank in the top 5% for R and Matlab.

I have been developing software and performing numerical simulations for more than 15 years. I have used Matlab for data analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, image analysis and user interfaces. I am currently ranked at the top 20% in StackOverflow.

I'm also an expert in JavaScript, JQuery, HTML and CSS, having developed more than a dozen web apps during the last 3 years.

I have been working for more than twelve years in R&D for the leading supplier of steel tubes and five more during my PhD in Physics.

I am multilingual with mastery in three languages: Spanish (native), English and Portuguese, and competent in French and Italian.

Key skills and expertise:

Software development (mostly Matlab):

  • Implemented a statistical routine for obtaining target reliability levels of collapse pressure of tubes
  • Developed Monte Carlo routines for structural integrity calculations
  • Designed and implemented a GUI for finite element modelling of welding lines
  • Designed and implemented a user friendly GUI for measuring samples by image analysis increasing efficiency by a factor of 10.
  • Developed the acquisition software in LabView for a thermal flux measurement laboratory

Laboratory testing:

  • Defined, organized and carried out laboratory tests of plastic thread protectors and rod centralizers
  • Proposed and tested improvements to tube traceability by adhesive labels and RFID
  • Proposed changes to an ENARGAS (Ente Nacional Regulador del Gas) test standard for approving tubular goods for gas transport. Defended Tenaris position successfully.

Mathematical models:

  • Modeled an API ring gauge to determine influence of taper and diameter tolerances for 2014 API standards discussions
  • Avoided a $1.5 million (ARS) claim against Tenaris by simulating the roll over of truck loaded with steel tubes.

Software use:

* Created several 3D models using Dassault Systemes' Catia V5.
